La Donna

昨日『La Donna』というライブハウスで非常に印象的なライブをやりました。お客さんが興奮してくれて素晴らしいゲストミュージシャンの２人と演奏することが出来ました。１ステージ目にソロの４曲を弾いて、それからバイオリンの方『真部裕』と５曲を弾きました。真部さんのストリングカルテットが僕の最新のCDに参加してくれたのですが、生で一緒に演奏するのは初めてでした。彼とアドリブするのが凄く楽しかったです。

２ステージ目の最初に３曲ソロで弾いて、それから『溝口肇』と４曲を弾きました。溝口さんもゲストで僕のCDに弾いてくれましたが一緒に演奏するのは２度目でした。音楽的に最初のステージと違う感じだったのですが、凄く楽しかったです。最後にも一度真部さんを呼んで、トリオで一曲を演奏しました。アンコールで三人でもう一曲を演奏しました。

この素晴らしいミュージシャンの２人とまた演奏出来れば嬉しいです。

ライブに聞いてくれたお客さんにとても感謝しています。
I had a very memorable performance last night at La Donna. The crowd was really into the music and I got to play with 2 fantastic guest musicians. The first set I played a few songs solo and then the rest duo with violinist Yu Manabe. He played with his string quartet on my latest CD but it was my first time playing live with him. It was a lot of fun improvising with him.
I started the second set off with a few solo numbers and then I got to play 4 songs duo with cellist Hajime Mizoguchi. He was also a guest on my latest CD and this was my second time to play live with him. It was a totally different vibe than the first set but just as much fun. At the end I invited Yu Manabe back to play as a trio. And as an encore we did one more song as a trio.
I really hope I get a chance to do more shows with these amazing musicians.

Asagaya Renewal

今日は阿佐ヶ谷駅ビルのリニューアルエベントの為に演奏しました。新星堂とTully'sで同時に演奏しました。写真を見ると分かるかな？弾き始めた時からたくさんの人が集まってくれて、最後までお客さんが真剣に聞いてくれました。演奏が終わったらCDを何枚も売れて、CDをサインしたりお客さんと話したりしました。阿佐ヶ谷の最初の印象は凄く良かったです。１０月の阿佐ヶ谷ジャズフェスティバルに出る可能性があります。
I played a really fun solo gig this afternoon in Asagaya for a renewal event of the station building. I played in Shinseido and Tully's Coffee at the same time. A fairly large crowd gathered around once I started playing and stayed until the end of my set. Afterwards I sold quite a few CD's and got to sign and talk to some of the audience. It was my first time in Asagaya but definitely not my last.

Temple gig with Karen Aoki

I played a really fun gig this afternoon at the most amazing temple in Kyoto. When we got to the gig I felt like we were walking into heaven. The place was so beautiful and peaceful. I wish we had time to relax and enjoy the temple after the show but it was an unforgettable gig.

今日の昼に京都にある安楽寺で凄く楽しいライブをやりました。お寺に着いた時天国に入った気がしました。あまりにも平和な場所でした。ライブが終わって、のんびり出来る時間があったら良かったけど、一生忘れられない体験でした。

First gig with Karen Aoki

昨日の夜素晴らしいボーカリスト『青木カレン』との初共演でした。名古屋にある雰囲気の良いジャズクラブ『スイング』で演奏しました。凄く早いテンポの曲が多くて、僕にとってとても楽しかったです。今日は京都そして明日は神戸でライブをやっています。

Last night I played my first show with a great singer Karen Aoki. We played in Nagoya at a very cool club called Swing. She does a lot of really fast tempo pieces which are a lot of fun for me. Today we are playing in Kyoto and tomorrow in Kobe. 

Double J Project

今週樹里からんと２つの楽しいライブをやりました。１つ目はセンター南のカフェカノンにありました。昼と夜２ステージをやって、どちらも満席でした。二つ目のライブは新橋の大好きなレストラン『Owl』にありました。また満席でした！２回連続満席状態のライブをやりました！このままで続くと良いですね。。

This week I played two really fun shows with Julee Karan. The first one was in Center Minami at Cafe Canon. We did an afternoon show and an evening show and both were completely sold out! The second show was at my favorite restaurant in Shinbashi called Owl. Again we had a completely sold out show! 2 sold out shows in a row. I could get used to this.

Back from Mexico

メキシコから帰ってきました。２週間にたくさんの楽しいことをやったのですが、日本に戻って良かったです。全ての１０本のライブがうまく行って、2日間のレコーディングによって新しいCDが面白くなると思います。メキシコの二週目からの写真を楽しんで下さい！

I am back from my tour of Mexico. It was a very event filled 2 weeks but it is nice to be back home in Japan. All 10 of my shows went well and I think we will have a very nice new CD based on the recording that we did. Enjoy some photos from my 2nd week in Mexico.
